Constitution

  1. The name of the Club will be the Darwen Loyal Angling Club.
  2. The Object of the Club shall be the acquiring and exercising of the rights of angling on the club waters.
  3. Membership shall be open and restricted to 150 fully paid up senior members.
  4. Any person breaking the rules or committing any wilful damage in any of the club’s localities will be dealt with by the Committee who on satisfactory proof may expel such misconducting members.
  5. The subscription meeting to be held in April, and subscriptions to be paid by 30th April.
  6. Proposals for the AGM to be in writing and sent to the Secretary not later than 31st October
  7. Entrance and subscription fees to be decided at the AGM.
  8. The Officers of the Club shall consist of the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer together with a Committee of elected members.  All the Officers  shall be ex-officio members of the Committee.
  9. The Officers shall be elected at each AGM.  Committee members shall be elected to serve for a period of three years.  In any of the appointments the Committee will be empowered to fill any vacancy.  The person appointed shall hold office until the next AGM.
  10. It shall be the duty of the Committee to conduct the business of the Club.
  11. A quorum of five Committee members (excluding Secretary and Treasurer) shall be deemed sufficient to conduct the business of that meeting.
  12. A special meeting may be called at any time on written request to the Club Secretary by five or more members.
  13. Juniors under the age of 10 are allowed if accompanied by a parent.  If over the age of 10 they must be accompanied by either a parent or a consenting adult member.  They must also fish within reasonable distance of the parent or adult member.  Juniors may also fish matches without the parent being present for the duration of the match only.
  14. An Environment Agency Licence is required.  Any Junior member holding a current EA Junior Licence will be entitled to be a Junior member.
  15. Any rules subject to alteration can be done at the AGM by the body of the AGM if the meeting deem it necessary.
